Whidbey Island Creative Retreat

Whidbey Island Creative Retreat

Nestled along the sweeping bluffs of Ebey’s Reserve, the Whidbey Island Creative Retreat offers a spacious and soulful pause from the everyday—a chance to step away from the noise, turn inward, and listen for what may be quietly emerging.

Gathering near the New Moon, we will explore the beauty and wisdom found in darkness. The New Moon reminds us that not everything needs to be illuminated to be meaningful. Sometimes clarity begins in the unseen—in the quiet space where we release what has been, rest in what we do not yet know, and make room for something new to take root.

From the moment you arrive at the historic Colonel’s House at Camp Casey, you are invited to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect—with yourself, with others, and with the natural world around you. Built in the early 1900s, this charming home carries the quiet character of another era. Its sun porch looks out over the water, offering a beautiful place for morning reflection, journaling, conversation, or a warm cup of tea.

Just steps away, the beach stretches wide beneath the changing coastal sky. We’ll walk the shoreline, notice the rhythms of the tides, and allow the landscape to remind us that darkness and light, letting go and beginning again, are all part of the same natural cycle.

Our time together will be intentionally unhurried. We’ll gather around the table for nourishing, thoughtfully prepared meals, sharing stories, laughter, and meaningful conversation. There will be space for yoga, art-making, writing, reflection, and creative exploration—as well as plenty of room to simply rest.

Through our creative practices, we’ll consider what we may be ready to release, what is asking to be renewed, and what small spark of possibility might be waiting beneath the surface. Like the first sliver of moonlight returning to the night sky, we’ll pay attention to the guiding lights in our own lives—the people, practices, dreams, and inner wisdom that help illuminate our way forward.

We’ll wander the nearby historic fort, explore the coastal trails, and visit the charming town of Coupeville for a bit of local shopping and discovery. Each experience offers another invitation to become present to beauty, place, and the quiet messages that appear when we give ourselves time to notice.

Whether you come seeking creative inspiration, clarity in a season of transition, or simply space to breathe, this retreat offers a gentle container for rest, renewal, and new beginnings.

Come as you are.
Rest in the darkness.
Listen for what is emerging.
And leave renewed, inspired, and carrying a little more light for the path ahead.
